Ikedaya Co., Ltd. was founded in 1950 and has been designing and selling bags for 75 years.

Our company was established in the former Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This area offers a close view of Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji, and Shimizu Port, known for its scenic views of the mountain, has recently gained attention as a stop for luxury cruise ships.

The city is also known as the birthplace of a beloved Japanese anime featuring a young girl as the main character, which has been popular in Japan for many years and is well-known in other parts of Asia as well.

Have you ever noticed that many children in Japanese anime wear a backpack with a long flap when going to school? That is a randoseru, a unique type of school bag developed in Japan.

Most children use the same randoseru for six years. While it may look heavy, it is actually designed to be lightweight and durable enough to last throughout elementary school. Since randoseru are usually made to order, they are not available for immediate purchase, but outlet items can be taken home on the same day.
